Arbre Banyan

This project combines painting and oil pastels.  With the color combinations and the reflections, it is an incredible art project.  The Banyan Tree is an amazing tree originating from India.  The unusual aspect of this tree is that it has a large number of trunks that send out roots to anchor the tree.  These roots can also become additional trunks.  A single banyan tree may cover an area nearly 1,500 feet in circumference and have more than 3,000 trunk-like roots!  Have a look at the wonderful art projects created by our class:
